Lawyer Darboe Rejects To Be Release Without His Followers

Lawyer Ousainou Darboe and his fellow political prisoners remain in custody.
The police had earlier today offered to release Ousainou by himself while holding on the rest of the prisoners. This offer was promptly and unequivocally rejected by Mr Darboe as being immoral and repugnant.
He and by extension The Gambian people demand the immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners , an independent and thorough investigation and full accounting of the violence and terror perpetuated by agents of the state against innocent and unarmed civilians.
We will settle for nothing less than freedom and justice for the Gambian people. We call on all Gambians of Goodwill to stand for the change our people deserve and strive to end tyranny and impunity.
We are grateful for the overwhelming support and goodwill manifested by conscientious Gambians and the broader international community as reflected by statements from the US, EU, UN, Amnesty, human rights watch, SI and others.
From Karamba: Head of the media committee
